Presentation
The AVID MADI module for the MTRX base unit is an expansion solution for professional audio environments requiring increased input and output capacity without changing the main system architecture. Designed to fit directly into the AVID MTRX or MTRX II chassis, it allows additional MADI channels to be added in a modular and scalable way.
Each module offers up to 64 channels of MADI audio transmission, depending on the chosen configuration. The user can install one or two modules in the unit, allowing the system configuration to be precisely tailored to the needs of a production, whether it's a recording studio, a broadcast control room or a complex post-production facility.
The system supports both coaxial and optical connections, offering considerable flexibility when integrating into existing infrastructures. This dual capability makes it possible to adapt both to environments already equipped with coaxial and to long-distance optical networks, which are often used in larger installations or those spread over several rooms.
The modular approach of the MTRX means that the system can be upgraded without completely replacing the main interface. The addition of a MADI module is therefore an effective solution for rapidly increasing routing capacity while maintaining centralised management via the AVID ecosystem.
This type of extension is particularly appreciated in environments where flexibility is essential, such as multi-room studios, immersive mixing installations or broadcast infrastructures requiring a large number of simultaneous audio streams. It also simplifies workflows by centralising more sources and destinations into a single MTRX system.
