AVID - MTRX Thunderbolt 3 module

The Avid MTRX Thunderbolt 3 Module is an expansion card developed for the Avid MTRX II and MTRX Studio interfaces. It adds Thunderbolt 3 connectivity to integrate these systems into native audio production environments using Core Audio on macOS or ASIO on Windows.

Thanks to this extension, MTRX interfaces can be used directly with the market's leading audio production software, including Apple Logic Pro, Avid Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Steinberg Cubase and Nuendo. This compatibility makes it possible to exploit the conversion and routing capabilities of MTRX systems within modern native DAW configurations.

The module offers up to 256 audio channels with an MTRX II interface and up to 64 channels with an MTRX Studio. This large capacity makes it possible to manage complex studio, post-production or immersive mixing set-ups while maintaining low latency and stable audio transmission via Thunderbolt 3.

A key feature of this expansion is the ability to run both DigiLink and Thunderbolt 3 connections simultaneously. Channel routing can then be managed via the DADMan software, offering great flexibility for distributing audio streams between HDX systems, native DAWs and advanced monitoring set-ups.

The module also makes it easy to set up immersive monitoring environments with room-acoustic correction, enabling users to build set-ups suitable for modern multichannel audio formats.
