AVID - Pro Tools HDX TB3 Chassis Desk

The Avid Pro Tools HDX Thunderbolt 3 Chassis Desk brings the power of Pro Tools HDX systems directly into a modern Thunderbolt 3-based production environment. Developed in partnership with Sonnet, it's designed to offer a flexible, transportable solution that's compatible with today's PCs and laptops.

The chassis can accommodate an Avid Pro Tools HDX PCIe card (sold separately) in a dedicated slot, offering PCIe bandwidth of up to 2,750 MB/s. This makes it possible to connect an HDX system to a Thunderbolt 3-equipped computer, while maintaining the performance required for professional audio environments.

Thunderbolt 3 connectivity comprises two ports. The first is for connection to the host computer, while the second enables up to five additional Thunderbolt or USB peripherals to be daisy-chained. This architecture facilitates integration into complex set-ups, whether in the studio or on the move.

The chassis is available in desktop or 1U rack versions, with conversion options between the two formats. The rack version can also accommodate a Mac mini (models 2010 to 2023), offering a complete, standalone system in a mobile format. This flexibility makes it easy to move from a fixed installation to a touring or mobile configuration.

Designed for professional environments, the chassis is built from aluminium and steel to ensure robustness and reliability. It is optimised for the thermal and electrical constraints of HDX systems, guaranteeing stable operation even in intensive conditions.

With its Thunderbolt 3 compatibility, it allows you to exploit the power of recent computers while retaining the Pro Tools HDX ecosystem and its DSP capabilities.
