Presentation
The Avid Pro Tools HDX TB3 Chassis is a professional expansion solution designed to integrate a Pro Tools HDX system into modern configurations equipped with Thunderbolt 3. Developed in partnership with Sonnet, this 1U rack-mount chassis allows an HDX PCIe card to be used with Mac or Windows computers that do not have an internal PCIe slot.
Designed for demanding audio production environments, it houses an Avid Pro Tools HDX card in a dedicated PCIe slot offering bandwidth of up to 2,750 MB/s. This architecture preserves the DSP performance of the HDX system while taking advantage of the power of recent Thunderbolt 3-equipped computers.
The chassis features two Thunderbolt 3 ports, one for connection to the host computer and the other for daisy-chaining additional compatible peripherals. This configuration facilitates integration into complex installations involving audio interfaces, storage systems or other Thunderbolt peripherals.
A USB 3.0 port is also available on the front panel for quick connection of accessories or external peripherals. Thanks to its 1U rack format, the Pro Tools HDX TB3 Chassis fits easily into a studio rack alongside other professional audio equipment.
