Specially designed for M-Audio speakers
Designed for use with the series M-Audio CX and BX Deluxe, and most other studio monitors, the SBX10 active subwoofer provides the type of response in the desirable low for music projects, movie and multimedia. Since today's consumer audio systems are designed to reproduce the lowest frequencies, it is critical that your audio production environment allows you to control and adjust the frequencies in your mixes. When paired with studio monitors M-Audio CX or BX Deluxe, the SBX10 becomes part of an integrated system that provides accurate monitoring across the spectrum of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. And, of course, it benefits equally to other monitors nearby.
Do not force your speakers. Nor your ears.
Studio monitors like the CX5 and BX5a Deluxe are designed to function as broadband monitors. Yet when they reproduce audio subwoofer very rich in high-volume, they are subjected to harsh constraints for the speaker, and tiring for the listener. Used together with the SBX10, they then form a system that can reproduce full-range signals with no problem at high volume without damaging the components of the enclosure.
Active crossover adjustment for both channels
The SBX10 subwoofer accepts the stereo output (two channels) on your mixer, your interface or audio card, your main speakers are then connected to the outputs of the box. The crossover circuit SBX10 separates the cutoff frequency of the signal defined by you (50-200 Hz), which is in keeping everything in the box below and routing everything over to the main speakers. This greatly improves the reproduction fidelity because the components do not fight each other to reproduce the same frequency, each element delivering only the frequencies for which it is originally designed. The variable crossover makes it possible to optimally adapt the bass frequencies in response to your monitoring environment to achieve the highest sound accuracy, whether in the studio or in a home theater environment.
Serious foolproof
The bass that is felt as asking someone to listen components and power foolproof. That's why the SBX10 has a strong amp class A / B 240 watt, 100% discrete design, to ensure a considerable reserve dynamics. The speaker 10 "features an oversized magnet and a long-travel coil, combining the best performance in severe and optimal power management. The baffle consists of MDF 3/4 "vinyl covered with front and rear panels of an inch thick, with an internal spacer system and a bass-reflex flare vent back to minimize turbulence and improve performance at low frequencies. The composite membrane fiberglass / paper provides a frequency response of exceptional precision, ensuring a clear and accurate reproduction of low frequencies without any fatigue for the listener.
Gone, the approximations
A good monitoring system allows you to perform mixes that stand perfectly regardless of the reproduction environment. It is therefore important to know how your mix behaves with and without the additional content provided by the subwoofer. Fortunately, the SBX10 includes a subwoofer bypass function that bypasses the amp, speaker and crossover, and sends the signal to the full band near speakers. By connecting the supplied pedal, you can freely control this function during playback of your mixes, even to the other end of the room.

Founded in 1980 in the U.S., the company known then as Midiman, and now as M-Audio, has become a leading manufacturer of controllers, master keyboards and audio interfaces, right down to monitor speakers. Acquired in 2012 by InMusic, the company that also owns Numark, Alesis and Akai Professional, among others, M-Audio continues to develop new products aimed at providing musicians with powerful, yet affordable tools. The company's superb STUDIOPHILE BX monitor speakers, KEYSTATION, OXYGEN, OXYGEN PRO and HAMMER MIDI keyboards, as well as M-TRACK and AIR sound cards, are just a few of the new products M-Audio has developed.
