The API 525A takes you back in time to the sound of the famous API 525, the brand's most successful modular compressor from the 1970s.
This reissue of the compressor is a feedback-type compressor, for classic sonic character and exceptional dynamic control behaviour.
Onboard the API 525, the cool multi-function 'Ceiling' control allows you to lower the threshold while increasing the output level, allowing you to adjust dynamics 'on the fly' without changing levels.
As part of the modular API 500 series, the Sonovente team appreciate the classic yet versatile nature of the API 525, in a flexible and cost-effective design.
A compression-limit knob adjusts the ratio to 2:1 or 20:1. The attack time is extremely fast: 15µs. Four release time modes are accessible via two buttons: 0.1s, 0.5s, 1.5s and 2.0s. A sibilance elimination function inserts an inverted voice energy curve filter into the detector for effective reduction of sibilance and pops. The 525 is an exact reissue of one of the most popular API products of all time.
