The Headbone is a switch that allows two transistor amplifiers share a single speaker. The
Headbone allows you to switch an amp to another without pops, clicks, hiss or added noise.
For example, Headbone allows you to switch between a head and a Ampeg SVT3PRO Aguilar TH500 head on the same enclosure 4 x 12. The
Headbone gives you a choice of active or passive inputs and uses optocouplers to ensure silent switching the guitar signal. For the speaker signal, a series of sealed relays switch the outputs of the amplifiers.
Switching between guitar and amp signals in this way ensures quiet and reliable switching while maintaining the natural sound of the guitar and the amp. The
Headbone control the transition between amplifiers to ensure that the appropriate impedances are always maintained by connecting the amplifier standy resistance. If a power supply is disconnected, the SafeMode automatically returns to Amp-1.
