The Brancher France L23AH mouthpiece opens up the acoustic space of the alto saxophone with a warm presence and generous relief. Its wide 2.30 mm opening lets the air circulate freely: the attack becomes supple, the projection stretches naturally, and each phrase takes on the round, expressive colour that jazz and smooth jazz are looking for.

The heart of this sonic personality lies in the carefully crafted ebonite. This classic material for large mouthpieces gives a warm, almost velvety grain under the breath. Computer-assisted machining ensures precise geometry, while hand polishing refines the feel: the lips immediately find their place, the vibration of the reed settles in with fluidity, and playing becomes more comfortable throughout the tessitura.

The wide chamber contributes to this open breathing. The timbre unfolds with fullness, rich in harmonics, capable of carrying a gentle melody as well as supporting an energetic chorus. The delivery remains stable, even when the dynamics widen, allowing very natural control of the phrasing.

The mouthpiece comes with a semi-rigid metal pressure plate ligature, designed to hold the reed in balance and promote resonance. A plastic mouthpiece cover protects the unit between sessions.
