The D'Addario EPS300-5 is designed for 5-string bassists looking for a very bright sound and precise response. The construction combines a carbon-rich steel core with stainless steel mesh to produce clear highs and a strong presence in the mix. The 43-127 hybrid tie rod combines supple high strings with more powerful low strings.
This Custom Light Top / Medium Bottom configuration offers an ideal balance between playing comfort and sonic projection. Tapered bass strings improve intonation accuracy and bass response. The set includes a specific combination of .043 and .063 gauges for the treble, and .085, .107 and .127 gauges for the bass.
This set has been optimised for certain PRS basses, while remaining compatible with many Long Scale instruments. The strings react effectively to the magnetic pickups, offering rich harmonics and a pronounced attack.
