D'Addario EXL170-8 strings are designed for Long Scale 8-string basses with a 45-100 Regular Light drawbar. This configuration includes the strings of our most popular drawbar as well as additional octave strings to extend your range. The tension remains pleasant under the fingers, even during fast passages or complex grooves.
Each string rests on a hexagonal core of high-carbon steel for stability and durability. The nickel-plated steel purfling produces a brilliant sound with powerful lows and well-defined notes. This combination ensures fluid playability and a balanced sound throughout the neck.
This set is part of the XL Nickel series, renowned for its reliability and tonal versatility. The strings are supplied in a recyclable VCI pouch to protect them and extend their life. A code on the packaging allows you to collect Players Circle points. The strings are made in the United States at the D'Addario production centre in New York.
