DR Strings MEHR-13 strings feature a Super Heavy 13-56 core, suitable for low tunings. Their hexagonal core reinforces the attack and improves precision in rhythmic playing.
The nickel-plated steel wire provides controlled brilliance and versatility. They hold the tuning well even in drop tunings. Bends require more effort but maintain a stable intonation. The sustain is long, which benefits solos in the lower registers. Their firm tension limits parasitic vibrations on guitars tuned low.
DR Strings builds each set by hand in its New Jersey workshop. The materials used, from wire to ball end, come from American suppliers. They last longer than standard strings of the same length.
