Eric Johnson, born in Austin (Texas) in 1954, is a guitarist, singer and composer renowned for his virtuosity and unique melodic sense. He made his mark in the 1980s with a style combining rock, blues, jazz and classical music, in which every note is thought out and articulated with great precision. His album Ah Via Musicom (1990) won him a Grammy Award for the cult track Cliffs of Dover, which has become a benchmark for guitarists the world over. Admired for his delicate touch and demanding sound, he is often described as one of the most refined musicians of his generation. Always active in the studio and on stage, Eric Johnson continues to inspire amateur and professional guitarists alike with his creativity and constant quest for the perfect sound.
