Matt Heafy, born in 1986 in Iwakuni, Japan, is a guitarist, singer and songwriter best known as frontman of the American metal band Trivium. He moved to the United States as a child and joined Trivium when he was just 12, quickly becoming the band's central figure. With his powerful voice and technical guitar playing, he helped forge the sound of modern metal, blending aggressive riffs with polished melodies. Their album Ascendancy (2005) marked a generation and propelled Trivium onto the international scene. Always active, Matt Heafy is also renowned for his musical discipline, vocal versatility and closeness to his fans, which he cultivates through live streaming performances.
