Jimi Hendrix was discovered by Chas Chandler, ex-bassist with the Animals, who became his manager. Before he became famous, he accompanied Little Richard, Ike & Tina Turner and the Isley Brothers. He couldn't read music, so everything was played by ear. On stage, he sometimes played with his teeth or behind his back. His favourite guitar was a white Fender Stratocaster. He admired Bob Dylan, whose All Along the Watchtower he covered masterfully.
