Billy Gibbons is the legendary guitarist and co-founder of the Texan band ZZ Top, formed in 1969. Recognisable by his long beard and hat, he is famous for his fat blues-rock sound, his "Pearly Gates" Telecaster and his playing inspired by Texas roots. Admired by Jimi Hendrix, he even received one of his guitars as a gift. Gibbons is also a compulsive collector of hot rods and rare guitars. Outside of ZZ Top, he has a solo career with albums mixing blues, rock and Latin influences. His signature sound remains a unique blend of minimalist groove and precise riffs.
