The bass drum 16 "have become increasingly popular in recent years. And for those who want less volume without sacrificing sound, Evans offers 16 skins" to kick drums or bass toms converted.
Compared to a skin tom, bass drum these skins provide more attack, more bass, less harmonic and more resistance.
They are available in strapping toms (TT ...) or bass drum hoops (BD ...) and several series (EMAD, EQ4, G1 hits and EQ3 stamp).

EMAD means "Externally Mounted Adjustable Damping" because the skin is equipped with a system of removable external muffles. That is, it is unnecessary to remove the skin, or access from the inside to remove or put the muffles. The EMAD is a simple skin-fold 10-mil thick, comes with two interchangeable rings attenuators, respectively 13mm and 18mm wide modifying the attack and touch and move into position as quickly as you wish.
