The Evans REMAD 4" bass drum vent protector is an accessory designed to adjust the sound on drilled resonant heads. It is fitted directly around a 10.2 cm soundhole. This position allows you to act precisely on the response of the bass drum.
Inspired by the EMAD system, this device acts on the harmonics generated around the opening. It refocuses the sound and makes the attack clearer. The result remains controlled without completely stifling the resonance.
A removable foam ring is included to adjust the level of attenuation. With the foam in place, the sound becomes drier and more focused. Without the foam, the bass drum retains more openness and sustain.
