ST Style Guitar

The Fender American Ultra Luxe '50s Stratocaster White Blonde combines an assertive vintage look with typically contemporary playing precision. With its sculpted ash body, aged nitrocellulose finish and 3 Pure Vintage '57 single-coils, it's aimed at guitarists looking for a precise, rich and expressive sound. The Modern D-style quarter-sawn maple neck, stainless steel frets and progressive radius provide smooth, fast playability. The Ultra 2-point synchronised vibrato, locking action and S-1 electronics add a welcome dose of technical comfort. Designed for both stage and studio, this Stratocaster is for those who want an instrument that's as demanding as it is inspiring, while retaining the charm of a '50s instrument without sacrificing modern-day precision. A must-try. Your amp will thank you.

Fender hasn't just gone back in time with this American Ultra Luxe '50s Stratocaster White Blonde, it's twisted it. The retro look of the Vintage series hides a modern arsenal: contoured Modern D neck to keep fingers nimble, contoured heel to access high notes without contortions, and sculpted body to sit comfortably, as if in a plush armchair.

If you've ever struggled with a flat fingerboard or temperamental frets, you're in for a treat. The progressive 10" to 14" radius of the maple fingerboard facilitates bends at the top of the neck without complicating open chords at the bottom. Add to that ultra-rounded edges, a soft-as-a-new-sweater satin finish and glow-in-the-dark Luminlay side markers, and you've got a guitar that won't get lost in the dark - even when you do.

When it comes to sound, this Strat is no slouch. The three Pure Vintage '57 Stratocaster pickups recreate Fender's legendary textures: bright, snappy, but also warm when needed. And if you're feeling playful, the Switch S-1 hidden in the volume knob opens up additional combinations. It's as if your guitar had a 'sound ninja' mode.

Tuning stability has always been a sensitive issue. Here, you can breathe easy: locking tuners, Ultra Deluxe 2-point bridge, stainless steel bridges, cold-rolled steel block... in short, nothing moves, even after a rollercoaster vibrato solo. Your tuner will be bored stiff.

We all remember a guitar that sounded good but was never totally comfortable. Fender seems to have taken this frustration personally. The Ultra Luxe '50s Stratocaster has been designed to leave your hands with no excuses. The perfect balance between tradition and modern precision follows you through your improvisations and your most whimsical compositions. And between you and me, even if your solos sometimes sound like a Sudoku riddle, this jewel will make you believe that it was all on purpose.

To protect your Fender Ultra Luxe on the move, nothing beats a well-padded strap, a sturdy folding stand and a few extra sets of Fender 250L strings. Picks don't get lost: they evaporate. So think big. And to complete the look, a vintage-looking amp like the '65 Deluxe Reverb would look great alongside it.

For even more texture, consider a Fender MTG Tube Distortion preamp pedal or a Marine Layer reverb. These analogue effects bridge the gap between yesterday's sounds and today's desires, just like this Stratocaster. And then again... who hasn't dreamt of getting lost in a shimmering surf vibe or a crunchy 60s-style lead?
