A preamp and EQ pedal for electro-acoustic guitar, the AFX Pro EQ Mini is based on the highly acclaimed Fishman Platinum series of instrument preamps. It offers high-quality preamplification and equalisation designed specifically for acoustic instruments. Unlike conventional pedals, the AFX Pro EQ Mini features an analogue preamp that provides up to +20dB of quality gain and impedance matching for most passive, active and magnetic acoustic instrument pickups.

Because of the variety of instruments and microphones available, it's good practice to adjust the level of your preamp using the Trim knob to get the best sound with the lowest noise.
LOW CUT: this control affects the lowest frequencies that can cause rumbling or muffled sounds as you play. It's a flat filter that's variable from 10Hz to 160Hz.
BASS: a boost here will add depth and weight to the sound of an instrument with a light bass response. Cut the bass by a few dB to accentuate the powerful sound of a dreadnought or jumbo guitar. This filter is centred at 115Hz with ±12dB of boost or cut.
MIDDLE: turn all the way to the left for a deep, mellow tone at high volumes. Turn the control up to add more midrange bite. This filter is centred at 750Hz with ±12dB boost or cut.
TREBLE: A boost here will help acoustic sounds stand out in a mix. Conversely, cutting the treble will soften and attenuate your sound. This filter is centred at 6kHz with ±12dB boost or cut.
BRILLANCE: this control can add sparkle and shine to your sound or reduce excessive finger noise and fret buzz. This filter is centred at 10kHz with ±9dB boost or cut.

All AFX Minis series pedals are compatible with standard guitar cables (TS / Mono). They also feature an innovative dual-channel audio path that lets you create two independent effects chains with a single set of cables (TRS / Stereo).
Simply connect several AFX Minis with TRS guitar cables and set the Audio Path switch on each pedal to Tip or Ring.
Pedals set to Tip will create one effects chain while pedals set to Ring will create a second.
AFX Minis allow you to select the audio path over which a particular effect will be processed.
To do this, press the Audio Path switch on the back of the pedal.
If you wish to use standard instrument cables, be sure to set the Audio Path switch to Tip (mono).
