There's no need to visit a luthier for an initial adjustment - the experts at Gewa's workshop in Germany have already taken care of harmonising the bridge, string action and tuning. You can then get straight on with your scales, work on a new piece or compose. That's the advantage of an instrument that comes complete with bow, bag and even a pocket for your spare strings: you unpack, tune and play. Immediately!

The quality of its sound is based on a fundamental choice: solid woods. The soundboard is made from solid spruce, a wood chosen for its lightness and ability to vibrate freely, giving the sound clarity and good projection. On the other hand, the solid maple back and sides give the instrument structure and roundness to the midrange and bass. This tandem of materials is not insignificant; it defines the character of the instrument - expressive enough for a solo sonata at home, defined enough to be recorded in a home studio without loss of detail.

Every practical element has been designed to simplify your daily life. The tailpiece features fine tensioners that allow you to make micrometric intonation adjustments in a matter of seconds. The spike, finished with an ebony cone, bites the floor with a tenacity that prevents unwanted slipping, even on a smooth parquet floor during a fortissimo.

The ebony fittings are not just aesthetically pleasing; their smooth surface guarantees a smooth glide for the fingers of the left hand. The deep red-brown varnish protects the wood while revealing its natural grain, and the inlaid purfling around the edge of the table is the signature of meticulous craftsmanship.
