Since the foundation of GEWA in 1925 by Georges Walther in the historic cradle of violin making of Adorf, their priority was the continuous improvement of products and their performance, and adaptation to individual customer needs. GEWA's business was transferred during the years after the war in Mittenwald (Bavaria) for reasons of political division of Germany.
Following the events of 1989 (the fall of the Berlin Wall), tradition requires, GEWA finds its cradle to create a central pole of activity in Europe. The combination of all activity on the Adorf platform was finalized in June 2010.
Today, GEWA distributes in all European countries through subsidiaries in each country.
Currently, more than 250 skilled employees are involved in GEWA GmbH in areas such as production, product management, distribution, purchasing, administration, accounting service, marketing and logistics. All share the same musical passion.
