Guitar Strings

GHS 7700 Pressurewound Light 40-96 strings are short-scale bass strings that significantly reduce sliding noise. Their construction with a hexagonal core and slightly flattened Alloy 52 winding produces a precise sound, with attack but without excessive aggression. This 40-96 tension rod remains supple under the fingers and is equally suited to fretted and fretless basses.

These GHS 7700 Pressurewound Light 40-96 short-scale bass strings are designed for players who want to keep their character without the noise. The hexagonal core provides a stable, well-defined base under the fingers. The nickel-iron Alloy 52 wire is slightly flattened during the manufacturing process. This process reduces sliding noise while maintaining a good attack.

The result is a clear sound, with present bass and clear midrange. The feel is smoother than a traditional roundwound, making it more comfortable to play. On a fretless bass, these strings keep the famous "mwah" sound without damaging the fingerboard. The light 40-96 draw makes them easy to play, especially on short necks.

They move easily from one style to another, from vintage grooves to more modern registers. If you're looking for a compromise between roundness, precision and comfort, this model clearly fulfils that role.
