Presentation
The Gibson 1963 Les Paul SG Custom Maestro Vibrola Classic White Ultra Light Aged is a luxurious tribute to a pivotal era in electric guitar history.
In 1963, Gibson evolved the SG by incorporating the Maestro Vibrola and perfecting its design into a true icon. This reissue, crafted by the Custom Shop, captures the look, sound and feel of the original with meticulous precision, delivering an exceptional musical experience.
Built from a solid mahogany body, this SG Custom is finished in a Classic White finish that has been expertly aged by the Murphy Lab. The Ultra Light Aged treatment simulates decades of natural wear, adding a unique and authentic charm to the instrument.
Its '60s SlimTaper neck, crafted from solid mahogany and featuring an ebony fingerboard adorned with mother-of-pearl block inlays, guarantees fast and comfortable playability, ideal for virtuoso solos as well as rich chords.
The three unwaxed Custom Bucker Alnico 3 pickups deliver an impressive tonal palette. The neck pickup offers round and warm tones, the middle pickup provides additional harmonic depth, while the bridge pickup offers a bite perfect for powerful riffs.
These pickups are paired with Audio Taper 500K CTS pots and Black Beauty capacitors, providing precise control and exceptional sonic clarity. The three-position selector allows intuitive navigation between the different configurations.
The Maestro Long Vibrola adds an extra touch of expressiveness, allowing for subtle or bold vibrato effects, while maintaining excellent tuning stability thanks to the Grover Kidney tuners and nylon nut. The ABR-1 bridge ensures perfect intonation and optimal vibration transmission.
Complete with a Custom Shop hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity, this 1963 SG Custom is more than an instrument: it’s a piece of musical history.
Whether for the stage, the studio or a collection, this guitar embodies the best of Gibson, combining classic design with unrivaled modern performance.
