With the SG Standard Ebony + Maestro Fuzz-Tone FZ-M Pack, you get a set-up designed to let you switch quickly from a clean, defined guitar sound to thicker, more expressive fuzz textures. The Gibson SG Standard features a mahogany body, a mahogany neck with a Rounded profile and a rosewood fingerboard.

You’ll enjoy its two 490R and 490T humbuckers, which allow you to vary the tones using the volume and tone controls and the three-way selector switch. Its 24.75" scale length, 22 frets and Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge with aluminium Stopbar tailpiece complement a configuration designed to cover both rhythm and lead parts.

To round off this package, the Maestro Fuzz-Tone FZ-M offers two approaches to fuzz via its Classic/Modern selector switch: the first is inspired by the FZ-1, whilst the second delivers a thicker, more modern fuzz. Its Attack, Tone and Level controls allow you to easily adjust the amount of fuzz, the tone colour and the output level.

To get the most out of the pack, start with the SG set to a clean or slightly overdriven setting, then use the FZ-M to gradually introduce distortion and compare the two modes. The guitar’s independent controls then allow you to quickly fine-tune the level and tone to suit the part you’re playing, whilst the pedal’s true bypass allows you to take it out of the signal path when not in use.
