Godin xtSA Koa Limited + Case It does it all and masters it all. The xtSA’s incredible sonic power comes from its three distinct sounds: electric guitar, acoustic and synth. The xtSA delivers intense electric tones thanks to its Godin humbucker-single-coil-humbucker pickup configuration and a five-position switch that ranges from powerful humbucker tones to clearer sounds in the second and fourth positions. Switch off the electric output and turn up the volume of the RMC pickups to transform the xtSA into an ‘acoustic’ guitar with an incredibly authentic sound. The xtSA’s acoustic tone is enhanced by a built-in preamp and a three-band graphic equaliser. The dual-output configuration means that the electric and acoustic sounds can be mixed directly on the guitar, through an amplifier or on a mixing desk, using both outputs. Furthermore, the xtSA features a synth pickup that is, quite simply, the best in the industry. As with all Godin MIDI instruments, a built-in 13-pin synth connector provides direct access to all Roland GR series synths and most 13-pin devices. This sonic power would be far less appealing if the guitar weren’t comfortable to play. But with a scale length of 64.7 cm and a 22-fret mahogany neck (like the one used on Godin’s LGX-SA), the xtSA is decidedly comfortable. The Richlite fingerboard has been designed using Godin’s Ergocut technique and is fitted with jumbo frets. The body is made from poplar heartwood and features a top of first-grade selected koa.
