Presentation
The Hiwatt DR504 1x12 Fane F75 delivers a sound balance designed for the musician who wants precision and clarity with every note. Its 12-inch F75 driver delivers a clean sound, with a strong midrange that makes the guitar stand out in a mix or solo.
Even at moderate volumes, the amp retains its dynamic range, capturing all the subtleties of playing, from delicate rhythms to more expressive passages.
The two channels, Normal and Bright, make it easy to vary the character of the sound. Normal provides a clear, stable base, ideal for laying down chords or working out nuances, while Bright adds a bit of brightness and relief, useful for solos or for breathing life into certain lines.
By combining the 2 channels, the DR504 offers a slight natural crunch that remains musical and controllable, even at volumes suitable for recording. Inside, the point-to-point wiring and Partridge™ transformer ensure remarkable sonic fidelity.
The choice of F75 driver emphasises articulation and bite, while remaining pleasing to the ear. This combination produces a faithful reproduction of the instrument, allowing the musician to feel every string attack and nuance, without altering the overall clarity.
The DR504 is easy to get to grips with, thanks to its simple, intuitive controls. Its compact design and sober black Tolex finish make it easy to install and transport. Versatile and responsive, it is equally suited to electric guitars, acoustic instruments and keyboards, offering a complete and reliable sound experience in a variety of contexts, from the studio to the small stage.
The DR504 1x12 Fane F75 reflects David Reeves' vision and Harry Joyce's exacting standards in an accessible format. Every sonic detail, from the grain of the midrange to the subtlety of the saturation, allows the musician to express himself fully, while retaining the authenticity of the Hiwatt sound. It's an amp that invites you to play, experiment and rediscover the unique character of the brand in every context.

To find out more...
Dave Reeves was a British engineer and the founder of Hiwatt, a famous brand of amplifiers for guitar and bass. After working for Sound City and Mullard, in the 1960s he created his own models, designed to be robust, reliable and deliver a clear sound even at high volume. His amps quickly won over legendary bands such as The Who, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, helping to define rock's famous "British sound". Although he died in 1981, his influence lives on and Hiwatt amplifiers are still built according to his principles.
