Presentation
The Park P50 Classic, nicknamed the 'Black Flag Plexi', embodies the iconic British sound of the 60s, favoured by guitarists such as Angus Young.
Designed to capture the essence of Jim Marshall's Plexi 50W, this amp offers two channels with complementary characters: a bright channel that brings out the highs without sacrificing the lows, and a darker channel that retains a deep, rich sound.
This duality makes it possible to explore a variety of sound textures while retaining the power and clarity characteristic of the British Tone.
Equipped with EL34 power tubes and a rectifier tube, the P50 combines warmth and aggression. The EL34s concentrate the midrange and add colour, while the rectifier provides subtle compression when the amp is in use, giving a sensitive, dynamic feel.
The PPIMV (Post Phase Inverter Master Volume) system produces a saturated sound even at low volume, while offering the possibility of returning to the classic Plexi behaviour by pushing the master all the way up.
To increase versatility, Mitch Colby has incorporated two push-pull potentiometers: one boosts the upper midrange on both channels, the other applies different bright cap values, giving two distinct voicings to each channel. This subtle customisation makes the P50 capable of adapting to all types of guitars and playing styles, from blues to the most energetic rock.
The head features four jack inputs, two speaker outputs with adjustable impedance (4 Ω, 8 Ω or 16 Ω), and a 3-band EQ with shared Brightness control on both channels.
Entirely hand-wired and finished in black Tolex, the Park P50 Classic is a British boutique amp that delivers a historic sound experience, true to the spirit of the Plexi while remaining versatile and fun to play, even in low-volume sessions.

Jim Marshall is best known for running a shop where local musicians could meet, swap and try out equipment. He sold his amps worldwide under the Marshall brand, but in the UK he used the name Park Amplifiers. The shop served as a valuable testing ground for new products and kept Jim in touch with the exploding UK music scene. Park amps, often described as 'a bit hotter', are highly sought after in the UK as they are much rarer than their Marshall-branded equivalents.
Mitch Colby has devoted his life to working with Marshall Amplification and has spent a dozen years perfecting the Park range. He's taken the best existing circuits and painstakingly recreated the original sounds and tonal signature of Jim's early days. In addition, Mitch has designed four new amplifiers to carry on the spirit and incredible legacy of Jim Marshall and the Park Amplifiers.
