The Hiwatt Studio/Stage 20/40 Combo Fane F75 is a guitar combo designed to offer classic Hiwatt sound in a compact, handy format. Its power can be selected between 20 W and 40 W, making it suitable for small rooms, rehearsals or studio use.

Gain is simply adjusted via a push/pull potentiometer, allowing you to switch from a clear sound to a natural, rich and articulate overdrive, without forcing the volume. The Bright switch and independent Hi and Low inputs help to shape the sound to suit the guitar and playing style.

This combo embeds a 75W Fane Acoustics™ F75 loudspeaker, developed especially for Hiwatt. It focuses on the high mids, delivering a clear, articulate and present sound, while remaining soft on the ear. When the gain is pushed, the saturation remains subtle, making the guitar stand out in the mix and giving a feeling of depth and dynamism. Every note and chord is felt with precision, revealing the personality of the instrument plugged in.

The amp features a three-band EQ, Master Volume and a long, deep True-Spring reverb, all of which add colour and depth to the sound. The Studio/Stage 20/40 is optimised for use with pedals: its natural tube saturation and power reserve preserve the fidelity of the effects. It's a plug and play model, allowing the guitarist to concentrate on playing and expression rather than on the hardware.

Every detail of its design reflects Hiwatt know-how: hand-wiring to Harry Joyce's military standards, original Partridge™ transformers, manufacture in Hiwatt Custom workshops in England.

Dave Reeves was a British engineer and the founder of Hiwatt, a famous brand of amplifiers for guitar and bass. After working for Sound City and Mullard, in the 1960s he created his own models, designed to be robust, reliable and deliver a clear sound even at high volume. His amps quickly won over legendary bands such as The Who, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, helping to define rock's famous "British sound". Although he died in 1981, his influence lives on and Hiwatt amplifiers are still built according to his principles.
