Ibanez - LB1-BK Lari Basilio Japan Black + Etui
The Ibanez LB1-BK Lari Basilio electric guitar, in black finish, combines elegance, finesse and musical personality. Designed in Japan in close collaboration with the Brazilian artist, it is based on the AZS platform while incorporating specific features designed specifically for her playing. Its ash body, steamed birdseye maple screw neck with matching fingerboard, and Seymour Duncan S-S-H pickups by Lari make up a well-balanced formula. With its Gotoh T1702B vibrato, Magnum Lock H.A.P. tuning machines and dyna-MIX9 switching system, this LB1 is cut out to explore a wide range of sounds. Whether you're a curious fusion player or a fan of articulate solos, this guitar is sure to pique your interest.
Presentation
Lari Basilio's trio of Seymour Duncan pickups makes all the difference. Configured in S-S-H, they allow you to tackle an astonishing range of styles, from hushed jazz to hard-edged riffs. The humbucking bridge pickup is well-balanced and responsive, with both clean sound and high gain. The centre pickup, a rarer approach, adds a highly personal touch of colour, while the neck pickup retains a vintage warmth without excess.
If you like fiddling with sounds, the dyna-MIX9 with Alter Switch will become your new playground. With its 9 sound combinations and its ability to simulate double coils with two singles, this system gives you a great deal of freedom. It's not just a gadget: it's a tool designed to refine your sound signature, without moving a millimetre.
The Gotoh T1702B vibrato, fitted to this LB1-BK, combines responsiveness and sustain. Its brass construction favours resonance and the vibrato arm is extremely easy to fit. Coupled with Magnum Lock mechanics with H.A.P. system, it ensures stability and accuracy even after a few tremolo acrobatics. Once you've had a taste of it, you'll look at vintage bridges with a little more distance.
The ash body doesn't just look great under the glossy varnish: it also contributes fully to sound projection and sustain. The whole thing is balanced, both in terms of balance and timbre. And if you're wondering why it all sounds so right, the bone saddle and stainless steel jumbo frets probably have something to do with it too...

To get the most out of the LB1-BK, you need a few companions. A good compressor, a flexible overdrive pedal and why not a tape-style digital delay to play with ambiences. And since the instrument comes with its own hard case, all you need is a spare set of strings for long sessions. And don't forget a good tube amp to give it all the nuance it deserves.
