iZotope Insight 2 offers you an ultra-complete, high-performance package for analysing your sound productions. All the meters can be customised to suit each session. Visualise all aspects of your mix as accurately as possible: intelligibility, spectral balance, etc.

Insight 2 brings together the essential tools for broadcast compliance, ensuring clear dialogue for films or managing complex sessions in Dolby Atmos 7.1.2.

Let your dialogue be heard:
Don't let your dialogue get lost in the mix! Insight 2's new intelligibility meter simplifies the setting of dialogue levels and gives you a more accurate idea of how the audience will experience the dialogue, whatever their listening environment. Mix without risk of error by using visual cues to confirm that your dialogue is clear enough.

Intelligibility meter :
New to Insight 2, the intelligibility meter indicates whether dialogue is at risk of being overshadowed by the volume of the rest of your mix. Using the new iZotope Relay plug-in, Insight 2 draws information from your dialogue track and gives you the best recommendation as to where your dialogue should be in relation to the rest of your mix. Now it's even easier to make sure your dialogue tracks are audible across all sound sources.
Choose from a range of target listening environments, from low to high noise, to check how your dialogue remains intelligible?
Place Relay over your dialogue track and Insight 2 will detect it via inter-plug-in communication, allowing Insight 2 to display your dialogue in relation to the mix as a whole.

Loudness & True Peak Metering:
By assessing audio levels in terms of how loudness is perceived by the human ear, loudness meters are used to ensure that the mix complies with broadcast regulations, such as those specified by the Advanced Television Standards Committee and the European Broadcasting Union. Fully compatible with ITU-R BS.1770-1/2/3/4 and EBU R128, Insight 2 provides the tools you need to make sure your audio is compliant.
See important values at a glance with volume meter readings showing momentary, short-term, integrated and volume range calculations, as defined by the BS.1770 measurement guidelines.
Ensure no sound is recorded during analogue playback with BS.1770-4 compliant true peak meters.
Set your own volume and clipping thresholds and be quickly alerted to exceedances with adjustable volume targets and True Peak.
Document and archive a project's loudness data with an exportable log or graph, ideal when you need to check or trace your work for clients.

Levels:
Let Insight 2 have the last word in your level references. Accurately measure your sound in standard Peak + RMS format or using the special K-weighted system that helps preserve musical dynamic range. You can even define your own peak target where Insight 2 will give clipping feedback to help you stay within the limits of your chosen loudness standard.

Sound field :
Insight 2's Stereo Vectorscope provides useful display options for examining the stereo image of your mix.

Choose between Lissajous and Polar modes for multiple views of stereo field activity and activity history.
Check the balance between left and right channels with the stereo balance indicators.
Compare the similarity between left and right channels with the stereo correlation meters.

Enhanced Surround Scope:
An Insight 2 innovation to help you visualise how your surround project will be perceived spatially by your audience during playback and to alert you to any potential technical issues with the alignment of your audio.
Displays up to 7 channels of surround data.
Quickly deduce how a surround mix will be perceived in surround space with a 360-degree surround amplitude indicator.
Be immediately aware of any potential phase problems with the correlation meter, which indicates the risk of signal cancellation during summation or playback.
Easily locate the overall surround location of a signal in surround mode (up to 7 channels).

Spectrogram :

Communicate throughout your session:
Get a clear picture of how your tracks compare to your entire mix using the included iZotope Relay plug-in. Any channel on which the Relay plug-in is activated can be viewed in Intelligibility Meter and on the spectrogram in Insight 2, allowing you to visually compare your track to the rest of the mix. Relay is also compatible with iZotope's Visual Mixer plug-in, allowing you to adjust the levels, panning and width of your tracks in a visual space.

Relay :
iZotope Relay is a utility that communicates with iZotope-compatible plug-ins in your session to perform a variety of useful tasks. Place Relay on your track and access precision channel strip functions such as high-pass filtering, phase and mono controls, pan and width sliders and delay time. Individual instances of Relay will also be detected by Visual Mixer, Insight 2 and Nectar 3, unlocking powerful monitoring and processing capabilities.
With Relay, you can:
- Measure intelligibility with the Insight 2 intelligibility indicator: Using this brand new Insight 2 indicator, measure the relative intelligibility of your voice and visualise how clearly it will be heard in different types of listening environment.
