Jackson - MJ Series Dinky DKRP EB Japan Transparent Blue Burst + Etui
The Jackson Dinky DKRP Transparent Blue Burst guitar is designed for those who want to combine sleek looks with formidable performance. Its design is inspired by the Japanese models of the 1990s, when Jackson guitars designed for export were already imposing their bold lines and surgical precision. The DKRP combines highly technical elements: a five-piece screw neck with graphite reinforcement, a poplar burr top on a mahogany body, and an ebony fingerboard with variable radius. The whole package is enhanced by a pair of DiMarzio pickups that don't whisper. This is a model made for sharp playing and uninhibited flights of fancy.
Presentation
As well as being a real eye-catcher, the Dinky DKRP Transparent Blue Burst also packs a punch when it comes to sound: a DiMarzio Super Distortion DP100 pickup on the bridge for riffs that ooze controlled saturation, and a PAF Pro DP151 on the neck for clarity even in a busy mix. This duo can be tamed via a well thought-out 5-position selector, complemented by discreetly styled but effective knobs. In short, the kind of configuration that makes you want to play with the volume knob as if it were an instrument in its own right.
Beneath its sharp looks, the DKRP hides a playing comfort that almost makes you forget you're hitting solos. Its ebony fingerboard with its progressive radius (305 to 406 mm) lets you play Zen chords at the bottom of the neck or improvise at full speed at the top, without having to change strategy. Special mention should be made of the Luminlay markers on the edge, visible in the dark - because missing a performance is all very well, but knowing why you missed it is even better.
Between the Gotoh GE1996T double-lock vibrato, the die-cast oil bath tuners and the Dunlop double-lock strap-locks, the MJ Series DKRP does everything it can to make sure you don't miss a thing. No slipping chords, no leaking straps: this guitar stays true even when you try a venomous dive bomb. It doesn't flinch, and stays with you right through to the final encore.

A noise gate pedal, a compressor and a high-gain amp will be perfect sandbox companions, so it doesn't feel too lonely and gives it plenty of scope to express its creative potential.
Don't forget to set aside a set of safety strings, a microfibre cloth, a polish and something to moisturise the ebony fingerboard, to keep it in tip-top shape.
