Three Seymour Duncan single-coil pickups mounted on a swamp ash body: the Sire Larry Carlton S10 SSS LH immediately establishes its sonic signature in the historic single-coil register - slamming attack, hollow and luminous midrange, crystalline highs that sparkle without aggression. Swamp ash, a light wood with open pores, amplifies attacks with an immediate percussive response and colours the upper midrange with a transparency that mahogany cannot match. The 5-position selector divides this spectrum into neck/midrange/bridge combinations, with the intermediate positions producing the phase cancellations characteristic of the style.

The hard maple neck, screwed to the body with a 4-screw steel plate, transmits vibratory energy without parasitic organic absorption - hard maple sounds brilliant, attacked, with immediate punch on transients. The Edgeless™ hard maple fingerboard extends this tonal density under the fingers, its smooth, moisture-resistant surface for crisp articulation on high positions. The 12"-14" compound radius flattens the fingerboard progressively towards the treble: chords down the neck rely on a natural curve for the left hand, solos in the high position benefit from an almost flat top that eliminates string crush on bends. The 2.7mm Medium Jumbo stainless steel frets last significantly longer than standard alloy and glide under the finger with reduced friction.

The Gotoh 510TS-SF1 gold-finish bridge anchors strings at precise angles for direct-to-body playback, and its arm-lock system maintains tuning after vibrato use. Sire Premium locking action eliminates string slippage at the headstock. Abalone dot markers, a black 3-ply plate, full gold hardware and the official Sire hard case supplied with the instrument complete this top-of-the-range package.
