It has accented the same advantages and disadvantages as the cardioid. It is often used in conference, when speakers are approaching some microphones.

Four types of microphone capsules are available for hand transmitters U500 Series for more flexibility and better adaptation to every application. The capsules are dynamic cardioid or hypercardioid; extremely resistant to feedback. The U500 microphone capsules incorporate a suspension preventing any handling noise, easily screwed onto the handheld transmitters, and contacts are gold plated for better electrical conductivity.
