Manley - Massive Passive
Manley's Massive Passive is a 4-band, 2-channel passive tube equalizer. The Massive Passive is a monster of an equaliser. A natural, organic, acoustic sound can only be created by an equaliser that processes the signal using natural methods. Instead of bending a complex circuit to arbitrary scientific or clinical requirements, the Massive Passive uses simple passive components whose natural qualities it exploits. The Massive Passive EQ excels in everything from harsh shaping to the subtlest nuances needed to affect vocal tracks or the whole mix. Although different in nature, its 2-channel, 4-band design offers an incredible amount of sonic sculpting, incorporating the best of Pultec, console EQ, graphic EQ and parametric EQ (minus the colouration).
Presentation
Manley is fully aware that mastering and recording EQs are used by artists for artistic purposes. In the design, they have slightly prioritised the artistic over the scientific aspect.
