Presentation
Under the fingers, the Manuel Rodriguez Gipsy Kings Signature Legacy Maestro Jaune expresses itself with the dry, taut clarity typical of flamenco in the gypsy tradition: a lively attack, clean transients, and that brief resonance that snaps like a well-placed palma. The bold yellow colour is not an artifice - it's an extension of the Gipsy Kings' stage identity, a group that has always played with the same visual intensity as it does musical.
The luthiery is based on vintage woods with acoustic properties that have matured over time. The 1950 fine-grained spruce top, from the private collection of Manuel Rodriguez II, develops optimum internal rigidity for direct projection and a dynamic response without inertia. The solid cypress ribs from the gardens of Aranjuez, harvested in 1940, give the body that dry brilliance and bite characteristic of Madrid's court flamenco. The 8 cm depth of the body concentrates energy forward rather than dispersing it. The cedar neck transmits every vibration unfiltered, making the playing immediately legible in the hand. The ebony fingerboard has a dense, smooth surface for smooth gliding under rasgueados and precision picado playing. The 50 mm top nut widens the string spacing for decisive comfort in demanding flamenco techniques. The 12-hole rosewood bridge, engraved with the GK crown logo, anchors the strings with an organic density that enriches the bass register. The transparent pickguard protects the top from knocks without altering the aesthetics of the wood. The bottle-shaped mahogany back inlay gives the instrument a discreetly handcrafted visual identity.
Designed for intensive stage performance, this guitar is equipped with Fishman Presys Pro Blend preamplification, which reproduces the natural acoustics of sound reinforcement without any parasitic coloration. The finely-tuned Wittner Flamenco tuners keep the tuning under the heat of the spotlight, tour after tour. The double-action tuning bar adjusts the relief of the neck to suit the climate. The Hannabach 815HTC high-tension strings, made in Germany, complete the set with a clean response and long life. This instrument bears a numbered label hand-signed by Nicolas Reyes, guaranteeing the authenticity of an instrument that has been made in the tradition of the Madrid school for over 115 years.

To find out more...
Nicolas Reyes is not just the iconic voice of the Gipsy Kings: he is the direct heir to a deep-rooted lineage of gypsy music. The son of José Reyes, he grew up between the tradition of pure flamenco and the realities of exile, his family having left Spain during Francoism. Before his worldwide success, he sang in the streets and at private events. His ability to fuse flamenco rhythms, rumba and international influences has redefined the genre. Today, his intense, improvisational vocal style remains a unique signature that is hard to imitate.
