Presentation
The D18 combines the best of the vintage and modern versions. The advanced and scaloppé (i.e. lightened) bracing has been adopted (normally reserved for the vintage and top-of-the-range series), offering the best possible response from the Sitka spruce top. The vintage pickguard with its tortoiseshell pattern, the purfling and the rosette are also in the D18 vintage tradition. The body is of course made from selected solid mahogany. Fingerboard and bridge are ebony, but the neck is modern with its Performing Artist profile, fast and comfortable. The top nut is slightly wider than the original version, and the string spacing is also more comfortable for easier playing.

C.F. Martin and Co. has been building exceptional guitars for over 180 years. Founded in 1833 by Christian Martin Senior, the American firm has continued its work from generation to generation, spanning the centuries and the economic, social and political turmoil that has occurred over those many years, such as the Civil War, the Great Depression and many others.
Now run by Christian Frederick Martin IV, Martin Guitars has been able to adapt and constantly innovate, introducing new manufacturing techniques that remain a benchmark for the guitar industry, such as the famous X-bracing, the 14th fret joint and the Dreadnought shape.
Adored by musicians and played by the greatest, Martin guitars have contributed to the development of most musical styles, from country to blues and from folk to rock. The list of Martin artists is long enough to sum up the history of modern music, with legends such as Elvis Presley, Paul McCartney, Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Ben Harper, John Mayer and many more...
