Mipro - MU-80

The MIPRO MU-80 capsule has been designed to meet the needs of the brand's top-of-the-range HF systems, combining robustness and audio precision. Its design encapsulates the printed circuit inside the holder, isolated from the air to ensure greater reliability and longer life under intensive use.

It incorporates a cardioid electret capsule (ECM-20a) that captures speech with great clarity while effectively reducing ambient sound and the risk of feedback. Its high signal-to-noise ratio, combined with a wide dynamic range, ensures faithful, natural voice reproduction, even at high volumes.

One of the strong points of the MU-80 is its patented shock-absorbing system, which considerably reduces the noise associated with handling the microphone. The multi-layer metal anti-pop grille features a double internal mesh and a differentiated top and bottom structure: the flat, multi-layer top grille effectively filters out pop, while the semi-spherical, four-chamber bottom grille optimises air circulation and protects the capsule.

With a frequency response of 50 Hz to 20 kHz, a sensitivity of -53 dB and two possible gain settings (0 dB and -6 dB), the MU-80 is equally suited to powerful singing and more delicate vocal work. Capable of handling up to 149 dB SPL, it's a versatile choice for live performance and recording.

The patented anti-roll central ring incorporates a practical coloured identification ring for quick identification of the capsule on stage or in the control room.
