The Pearl CMB1814-33 bass drum belongs to the Competitor series, and is designed primarily for the world of bands, marches and parades. It rests on a 6-ply poplar and kapur body, and this combination of woods helps the instrument produce highly effective low frequencies. A process unique in the world!

Pearl adds 6 strategically placed air vents, and these allow rapid air outflow to facilitate projection when playing with mallets or sticks. In this way, the sound remains full but easy to control, and you don't have to force your way through the mix.

Then there are the 1.5-inch gloss black maple hoops, which serve as a rigid support for the reinforced triple claws that anchor the male tie rods. Thanks to this solid connection between hoop and barrel, the tension of the skins is evenly distributed, and the tuning remains stable from one repetition to the next. Pearl also uses men's Superior Shell Technology with AcoustiGlue, and this process glues the plies together to create a tightly sealed air chamber. As a result, the body's natural resonance develops freely, and you feel the nuances better under the mallet.

Pure White #33 brings a classic orchestral bass drum look, and easily complements the rest of your percussion line. As the design is deliberately lighter for all diameters, moving between gigs becomes simpler.
