Pearl - FTMH1480 Free Floating Mahogany 14" x 8"

The Pearl FTMH1480 snare drum is part of the Task Specific series developed for precise sound applications. Its 8" depth places the sound clearly in the lower register, with a real sense of mass under the stick. The 10mm 8-ply African mahogany body accentuates the bass and gives it a dark, woody feel.

Each strike triggers a thick, deep and highly controlled growl. Sustain is kept short, so there's no sensation of an overpowering sound. The Free Floating system frees the barrel completely from the fittings for a natural resonance. This design allows the wood to express itself without mechanical constraints.

Moulded Mastercast rings add attack and enhance projection. The SR-160F Click-Lock release remains stable even with low tone tension. The 42 strands provide a wide response and excellent definition at low volumes.

This snare drum works equally well as a lead instrument or a powerful secondary voice. It's as at home live as it is in the studio. The sound remains legible even in dense environments. The mahogany look underlines its identity!
