Its 1.2 mm phosphor bronze body produces a cracking, brilliant and deep crack, with rich harmonics in the lower end of the spectrum. The Pearl FTPB1465 snare drum is part of the Task Specific range designed for well-defined sound signatures. Its 1.2 mm phosphor bronze body brings an immediately perceptible tonal richness. The sound is full, musical and loaded with low harmonics.
Each strike triggers a clean, crisp, lively crack. The bronze adds a controlled brilliance without aggression. The Free Floating system frees the barrel completely from the fittings. This allows the material to vibrate freely and project all its sonic complexity. Moulded Mastercast rings reinforce the attack and stabilise the tuning. The SR-160F Click-Lock trigger remains reliable even at low tone tension. The response is precise, sensitive and highly dynamic.
This snare drum remains legible at low volumes. It can also cope with hard hitting on stage without flinching. Its sonic footprint is large and easily fills the space. It's equally at home as a main snare drum or as a strong voice in a hybrid set.
