The MH1460B 14" x 6" Matt Halpern Signature is a snare drum developed by Pearl in collaboration with Matt Halpern, drummer for the band Periphery. This snare drum aims to provide versatility suited to various musical styles, combining power and dynamic sensitivity.
It features a 1.5mm brass shell designed to produce an articulate and controlled sound with a pronounced attack. The matte black finish combined with black chrome hardware creates a dark and aggressive aesthetic that complements most drum setups.
The MasterCast die-cast hoops ensure tuning stability and increase sound projection while controlling overtones. You'll notice it features the SR-150 Click-Lock trigger, which holds the lever firmly in position, preventing accidental disengagement and maintaining the desired tone tension.
The MH1460B features Evans Heavyweight Dry drumheads and Evans Hazy 300 resonant drumheads, selected to deliver a controlled sound with a defined attack. Matt Halpern said the goal when creating this snare drum was to design a versatile instrument that could adapt to different musical genres while remaining affordable for drummers.
