The Pearl OPTA0910 is a suspension system designed to optimise the resonance of toms. It fits drums between 9 and 10 inches deep.
It's fitted directly onto the tom's tie rods, so there's no need to pierce the barrel and restrict its natural vibrations. The aluminium used in its manufacture is solid and lightweight.
The tom rests on rubber pads that ensure isolated, stress-free contact. This design allows the drum to vibrate freely, prolonging sustain. The sound gains in openness and harmonic richness.
The OptiMount is renowned for making toms behave more naturally, even in complex configurations. This model is fitted as standard on Pearl's top-of-the-range drum sets such as Masterworks and Reference.
Installation is simple and requires no special tools. Once in place, the suspension holds the tom firmly in place without interfering with playing. The rigidity of the mount prevents any unwanted movement during performance.
