The Pearl PBJVR14-685 is a string-tuned djembe designed for percussionists looking for an expressive, durable instrument. With its 14" diameter, the djembe delivers a full sound that's equally suited to individual playing or large ensembles.

The body is made from a seamless synthetic material, using a process patented by Pearl. This construction reduces the risk of cracks and ensures a high degree of consistency. The Artisan Straight Grain Limba finish provides a meticulously hand-crafted appearance.

Tuning is done in the traditional way, by braiding triangles into the vertical strings. The tighter the braiding, the greater the tension in the skin. This system allows you to adjust your playing to suit your touch and musical style.

Synthetic skin with a natural feel is more resistant to humidity than animal skin. It remains stable even when the temperature changes, making it easier to play outdoors. The bass remains full, the tones well defined and the slaps come out clearly.
