Pearl's PBSHKENL Kenari Nut Shaker features a 5" loop handle combined with 22 strands of Kenari nut. When the Kenari Nut is played, its tough outer shell and hollow triangular shells metamorphose into tiny resonators of sound.

The PBSHKENL Kenari Nut Shaker is a unique percussion instrument in Pearl's Awakening series. Made from natural Kenari nut shells, it produces a robust, full woody sound that can add texture to a variety of musical styles. The tone is described as gentle and reminiscent of a flowing stream.
Hand-crafted, it stands out for its traditional, natural feel. This model has 22 strands of Kenari walnuts, each strand containing 6 walnuts attached with a red nylon cord. It also has a 5-inch rattan handle wrapped in black nylon for a comfortable grip.
You'll also notice that the hard, hollow shells act like tiny resonance chambers when the shaker is shaken.
