The Pearl PJBS-350 Djembass kit turns a 14" Pearl djembe into a pedal-operated bass drum. This system opens up a new way of using your djembe in a hybrid percussion/drums setup. You can easily adapt the sound using the included accessories for attack and bass.

Presentation
The Pearl PJBS-350 djembass kit is an adaptor designed to convert a 14" Pearl djembe into a bass drum. It allows the djembe to be played with the foot, using a conventional bass drum pedal. This approach completely changes the role of the instrument in a rhythmic context.
The kit includes a dedicated mounting plate to secure the pedal in place. The pedal is attached using an I.S.S. type clamp, so there's no need to make any permanent changes to the djembe. Installation is quick and easy.
Pearl offers two complementary solutions for adjusting the sound. A fabric cap is placed around the skin to soften the attack and strengthen the bass. A neoprene disc can also be fitted inside the djembe for a rounder bass with an even more controlled attack.
These 2 options give you a choice of distinct sound characteristics to suit your playing. The kit is equally suited to live or studio use. It's equally at home in modern set-ups combining percussion and drums. You retain the character of the djembe while exploring footwork.
