The Pearl SR012 timbre release is a vertical-pull tensioner, an ingenious system that moves the mechanism away from the body for easier adjustment. You can control string tension with precision thanks to its simple and effective grooved adjustment screw. Its design, perpendicular to the body, is a Pearl signature, making it easy to access, even in the tightest kit configurations. For a solid, permanent fixing, the counterpart and screws are of course included in the pack.

The Pearl SR012 timbre release is an essential part of any snare drum restoration or upgrade. Its vertical-pull design ensures movement perpendicular to the drumhead, guaranteeing smooth and precise tension adjustment of the timbre.
Unlike conventional models that slide along the body, this system reduces friction and better preserves the natural resonance. The grooved screw makes adjustment easy, even in full rehearsal or on stage. This gives you immediate, intuitive control over the tension of your strings.
The SR012 comes complete with its counterpart and the screws needed for installation. The spacing of the 3 holes (25 mm x 40 mm) ensures solid, secure mounting. Once fitted, it stays securely in place.
