Presentation
The kickstand is a microphone stand mounted on a thick layer of foam insulation overhung by a base made of solid steel. The goal of the kickstand is to limit the transmission of vibrations from the ground up to the microphone capsule.
Basic solid steel improves the stability of the microphone while isolating ground vibrations by mass effect. The limit to high-density foam layer on the other hand the structure-borne resonances caused by the vibration of the stage or the battery platform.
