Presentation
The Primacoustic Stratus is an acoustic ceiling panel that is positioned above the listening area to manage early reflections, echoes and help eliminate standing waves that cause resonance peaks. Once installed, you will immediately enjoy greater control over your environment and less ear fatigue. Attractive and very affordable, the Stratus comes as a kit and is easily installed with a screwdriver. The kit includes a 2" thick high density panel, glass wool and hanging hardware. The glass wool is encapsulated with a finely woven fabric and the edges are resin treated to retain the fibers. For the final appearance, the panel is covered with an acoustically transparent fabric for style and comfort.

The suspension hardware consists of two lightweight aluminum rails and L-shaped angles that form a rigid frame around the panel. To hang the Stratus, simply attach the supplied suspension wire. Hardware and ceiling fixings are also included in the kit. The Stratus is typically suspended above the console and grouped in an array spanning the width of your console and listening area.
The Stratus absorbs sound energy by converting it into heat. Sound energy travels through air vibrations, enters the panel, vibrates and produces heat. This thermodynamic energy transfer effectively absorbs directional sound energy and prevents it from reflecting back to the listening position. The panel thickness is 100% effective for frequencies between 400Hz and 20kHz. In order to control a wide frequency spectrum, the Stratus can be tilted to vary the angle between the panels and the ceiling. This allows the interior surface to also absorb reflections from the ceiling.
