Presentation
Designed in 1977 by James How, the strings in the Solo Bass 55 series use a patented pressure-wound spinning technique.
The pressure applied moves the crown of each winding, producing a flattening that reduces finger noise and friction, allowing faster finger movement.
This technique accentuates the mid-range frequencies, giving a sound quite different from that of a normal round-threaded string.
Because of the lamination, the mass is preserved and therefore the brilliance.
Ideal for studio work to tackle quieter musical passages.
