Serge "Jojo" Mayer, born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1963, is a highly influential drummer now living in New York. The son of a touring musician, he began playing drums at the early age of two and gave his first public performance at just three years old in Hong Kong. Renowned for his innovative techniques blending acoustic drums with electronic music concepts (which he calls 'reverse engineering'), Mayer has received widespread recognition and is considered a visionary in the world of drumming. He is also renowned for his exceptional hand and foot techniques, which he has detailed in his instructional DVDs.
